Garlic bread is an amazing accompaniment which goes with so many dishes, pizza, lasagne, spaghetti bolognese… pretty much anything which hails from Italy, really! You can buy it in any supermarket, but it’s oh so easy to make your own and tailor it to how you like it, there’s really no excuse not to give it a go! If you like your garlic bread on the cheesy side, then why not add a generous grating of Parmesan to the butter?

Print RecipeIngredients
- 1 Small French Baguette
- 125g Butter, softened
- 4 x Garlic Cloves
- A small handful of Flat Leaf Parsley
- 1 tsp Sea Salt
Instructions
Preheat an oven to 220°C.
Take the french stick and cut it into around 12 equal pieces about 1 - 1½ inch thick by cutting into it part of the way through, but not all the way,
Peel the garlic cloves and chop them very finely, and then very finely chop the parsely as well.
Take the softened butter - you can pop it into the microwave for 20 seconds - and then mix the garlic and the parsley into it thoroughly.
Spread the butter in between each of the pieces of bread, and then wrap it in foil.
Place into the oven and bake for 15 minutes, then open up the foil and put back in the oven for five more minutes to brown nicely.
Serve with your favourite dish.
