Peanut Butter is the best. No questions asked. But homemade Peanut Butter is so, so easy that I don’t know why we don’t do it more often! All you need is Peanuts, and no extra oil at all because it’s full of natural oils. So I really don’t know why so many companies insist on adding additional oils, especially palm oil which is damaging to the rainforest and environment. So, if you’re a huge fan of Peanut Butter (like I am) then you have to give this a go.
Homemade Peanut Butter
Print RecipeIngredients
- 500g Unsalted Peanuts
- 1 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
- That's it
- No really
Instructions
If your peanuts are pre-roasted, then you can skip this step. Otherwise, pre-heat oven to 180°C/375°F/Gas Mark 5 and scatter your peanuts across a baking tray and roast in the oven for 10 - 12 minutes, then leave to cool for 10 minutes.
Blitz the peanuts in a food processor, adding a little salt for seasoning, until it becomes smooth and creamy. The longer you blitz the peanuts, the smoother it will be.
If you want crunchy peanut butter, keep some peanuts aside and add in at the end and pulse just a few times.
